Certified Brucella vaccinated heifers and cows

This section caters for the certification process of female cattle that were vaccinated by a trusted third party. Trusted third party members are Private veterinary practitioners, animal health technicians and state veterinarians.

To qualify for this certification the heifers must be linked to dams (cows) that have tested negative a minimum of three times in a herd tested and deemed to be negative by the state veterinary authorities.

There is no point in wasting brucella vaccines and resources on heifers that are not derived from negative tested cows. This will merely lead to a false sense of security. Brucellosis cannot be managed with soft gloves.
